Water Meter Changeout
The City of Wyoming is in the process of replacing meters. The water meter is usually located in the basement utility room. Replacement of the water meter takes approximately 20 minutes and is at no cost to the homeowner. During the installation of the new water meter it will be necessary to shut off the water inside your home.
Please clear an area around the water meter, insure the valves on each side of the meter are operational so our staff can work efficiently. If the valve does not operate properly, it is the homeowner’s responsibility to have the valve replaced.
All City Public Works Employees will be in uniform, will have a photo ID and will travel in a marked city vehicle.

Water Ordinance For Lawn Watering
ODD-EVEN (no watering between 10:00 am - 6:00 pm)
The City has an ODD-EVEN watering ordinance. Residents may water their lawns on odd-even days depending on their address (odd addresses water on odd days, even addresses water on even days); however, an additional restriction applies -- watering must NOT occur between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm. If you have new sod, contact the Building Official at 651-462-4947 or by email for an exemption permit.
Sewer Back-Ups
If you are experiencing a sewer blockage, please call the Wyoming Public Works Department at 651-462-0580 Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. If it is after business hours, please call Chisago County Dispatch at 651-257-4100.
Once a call has been placed, Public Works employees will be dispatched to inspect and determine if the cause of the blockage is in the service connection or main line (this inspection to the City main service line is provided at no cost to the resident). Blockages in the City main line will be cleared by City personnel. Blockages in service connections are the responsibility of the property owner.
To help reduce sewer backups, we urge residents to refrain from disposing cooking grease, flushable wipes and large foreign objects in the sewer system.
Frozen Water Pipes
No Water Flow
If you are experiencing no water flow to your home or business, start by checking the inside and outside faucets. This will help determine if there is no water to just the inside of the property or to the entire property.
If your property is not receiving any water, please check to see if the valves before and after the water meter are on (turn handles counter clockwise). If you have done this and there is still no water, contact the Wyoming Public Works Department, Monday - Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM at 651-462-0580. The City may have the water shut-off for maintenance. If it is after business hours, please call Chisago County Dispatch at 651-257-4100 to report the issue.
Water Main Break
Water main breaks can be reported by calling Chisago County Dispatch at 651-257-4100. The County will contact the appropriate maintenance personnel.
If it is a suspected leak or minor problem, a resident can report it directly to the Wyoming Public Works Department at 651-462-0580, Monday - Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. If it is after hours, call Chisago County Dispatch at 651-257-4100. The City will investigate the problem and determine if there is a leak in either the public or private service line to the building. If there is a leak in the private service line, the City will notify the property owner to correct the problem. If the leak is in the City service line, the City will have it repaired.
Low Water Pressure
Are you experiencing continuous low water pressure to your home or business?
- Check out our Facebook page for any alerts regarding water main maintenance occurring in your area.
- Check to make sure both valves, before and after your water meter, are completely open.
- Check an outside faucet. If the pressure is good there, the problem is within the house. It could be the water softener or a stopped water meter.
If you are unable to determine the cause, call the Wyoming Public Works Department at 651-462-0580, Monday - Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
