The City's Public Works Department is responsible for streets, parks, water distribution, and sewer (sanitary & storm). For questions regarding utility connections, water meters, city trees, potholes and road restrictions, please contact Public Works.
The Wyoming Public Works Department is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the numerous public infrastructures and assets within the community. Public Works Department supports:
- 2 water towers
- 3 wells
- 338 hydrants
- 372 gate valves
- 32.11 miles of watermain
- 13 lift stations (14th coming soon)
- 24.55 miles of wastewater mains
- 6 backup generators
- 697 storm drains
- 16 miles of storm sewer lines
- 72 miles of paved streets
- 13.5 miles of gravel roads
- 18 Parks
In addition to maintaining public infrastructure, the Public Works Department manages a wide range of daily operational services. This includes:
- Snow plowing of city streets, trails, City park parking lots, and utility facilities
- Pothole patching
- Ditch mowing
- Street sweeping
- Ice rink installation and maintenance
- Warming house (staffed by part-time employees)
- Winter Trails
- Hydrant flushing (twice annually)
- Set up for annual tree lighting and touch a truck
- Tree inspection and maintenance
- Emergency response for disasters
- General assistance with City events and programs
