Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Comprehensive Plan?

  • The Comprehensive Plan is a long range planning document for the entire City that guides location, timing, and intensity of types of development, such as residential, commercial, industrial, parks and more.

Who uses the Comprehensive Plan?

  • Citizens, City Officials, and the development community when making decisions concerning purchasing property, deciding where to live, and determining how development should be managed in the City.

Why is the Comprehensive Plan important?

  • An effective Comprehensive Plan is created with community input and guides future growth. As such, it helps provide predictability and fairness concerning land use decisions. The plan is also important in providing proper interaction between development within our City and the regional infrastructure of the metropolitan area.

How can I participate?
