Election Calendar

  • August 11, 2026 from 7 am - 8 pm - State Primary Election Day
  • November 3, 2026 from 7 am - 8 pm - General Election Day
  • Federal, State, and City Elections are held in even years every two years

    • Primary Elections are the second Tuesday in August

    • General Elections are on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November

 

Polling Place Rules

In a polling place, only authorized people can be present. Campaigning is not allowed and political materials cannot be worn.

  • Do not enter a polling place unless you are authorized
  • Do not campaign in or near the polling place
  • Do not wear campaign materials
  • Do not initial or sign your ballot, or mark it with a sticker
  • Taking photos is discouraged

Time Off to Vote

In a state or federal election, every employee has the right to take time off work to vote without losing your pay, personal leave, or vacation time. See Minnesota Statute 204C.04.
